Michael Patterson joined GuideOne in April 2023 as Litigation Counsel. He previously served as Senior Trial Counsel for Allstate Insurance and The Hartford, where he represented the carriers and their insureds in serious bodily injury claims, premises liability matters and numerous first party claims throughout the Central, South and Coastal Bend regions of Texas. Michael has also worked as a private practitioner, where he has defended clients in tort litigation, and has represented claimants in employment-related discrimination and serious bodily injury claims. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Michael graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in biology, along with a minor in chemistry. He received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law-Houston. Michael is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and has practiced in the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys gym workouts, saltwater fishing and spending quality time with his family (including his 5 grandchildren).
