Jim DeSmith joined GuideOne in May 2022 and currently serves as Coverage Counsel. Prior to joining GuideOne, Jim was a partner at a boutique law firm in Canton, Ohio where his practice focused on insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation.

Jim graduated from Miami University in 2005 and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2008. He has been admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio since 2008.

Jim resides with his wife and two children in North Canton, Ohio. He is an avid golfer and football fan.
