Scott Whisler joined GuideOne Insurance in 2016 and serves as Litigation Counsel, representing the company's insureds in litigation in Iowa and surrounding states and managing litigation in jurisdictions around the country. He has nearly 25 years of experience as a trial and appellate litigator in a broad range of civil disputes including catastrophic personal injury, construction, employer liability, contracts, fraud, insurance coverage, and bad faith. He has extensive trial experience and has numerous published appellate decisions.

In 1989, Scott graduated from Evangel University with honors and with concentrations in Philosophy and Biblical Studies and a minor in English. He received his law degree with honors from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1992 where he was also an Associate Editor of the Iowa Law Review and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.

Scott is admitted to practice in both Iowa and Texas and before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Iowa Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association.

Scott is active in his community as an elder and Sunday School teacher in his local Presbyterian church and as a Studio Narrator for the Iowa Department for the Blind. He and his wife have 5 children.
